Rap-star Snoop Dogg faces a court hearing next month on charges of trying to carry an outlawed police baton onto a plane, officials said Monday.

The 35-year-old whose real name is Calvin Broadus could face up to three years in prison after being caught with a banned collapsible police baton in his luggage as he boarded a flight from John Wayne Airport in Irvine, California, on September 27.

The rapper posted bail Tuesday after a two-hour processing hearing for a mug-shot and fingerprinting, Orange County Sheriff's Department officer Jim Amormino said.
